can anyone tell me the current values (in dollars) for the british 1920 and 1925 half pennies both in either au or bu condition? I found matching coin years on ebay but not matching condition to mine.

Also are there any varieties or rarities for these 2 years?

thanks
Malissa

Best I can do for you is interpret from the values in my book of these coins from pounds. I'm surprised no-one has helped out poor Malissa by now...

1920: an EF is worth about 8 GBP which is probably the same as your aUnc grade so that would be about 15 dollars say. For genuine UNC it's listed as 28/35 GBP or $40-55 the higher value being the best UNC coins with no scratches and full lustre.

1925: 6 pounds in XF and 30-40 GBP in UNC-BUNC grades, so slightly less in aUNC and more in the very best grades.

How accurate that is I don't know but you now have some idea.

thanks matt

I have a few half pennies. I'm not even sure where they came from to be honest. But they looked pretty good to me and the books I have on world coins are a little too old to consider reliable.

thanks again
