Hmm it should be nickel-brass alloy (numista link here: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces4515.html). Mint spec is 8g--what does this piece weigh?

Kinda reminds me of environmental damage,like a metal detector find.

sorry Spence dont have a gram scale, but will buy soon.. yes, should be a nickel brass but as john1 said its possible for corrosion.. but again looking for a possibility of a trial strike, but not really sure of its color.. heres the link http://blog.filipinonumismatist.com...vos.html?m=1

This is a 1966 British nickel-brass threepence that I found with my metal detector. The coin should be the same color as my avatar! This shows what can happen when nickel-brass coins are buried for a few years:
