1897 Morgan For Grading, Please - Tarnished Edges?

BudJillett Valued Member United States 72 Posts	Posted 05/22/2020 6:19 pm Looking for grading opinions for this Morgan. I'm also wondering about the discoloration on the edge. Parts of the edge are coppery-color, other parts almost pure copper looking, and other parts greenish (like patina-color copper). Would this have been caused by prior handling at the edges? Or could it be caused a chemical in the cardboard of the coin holder it was stored in? Thanks all! Report this Post to the Staff

The 1897 is one of the enigmas of the Morgan series, with a relatively low depression-era mintage, but an exceptionally high survival rate of high grade examples.
