I have a question relating to the value of token coinage from Upper and Lower Canada from the mid-19th Century. It seems that Krause only gives Values for up to VF and for Unc., but no values are indicated for EF or AU.
I believe that my 1852 Upper Canada half penny token may be an EF or better (what do you think?). So what kind of value might this have?
Charlton's Canadian Colonial Tokens 6th Ed. p193 lists:
VF=$10 EF=$20 and AU=$75.
I think your token may qualify as EF. The hint of red we see is likely a remnant of prior cleaning. Both sides appear to have aged differently... hum-hum. But nice token!
