1955 LWC DDO (No, Not That One...but Still A Good'n)

Lots of decent images which is helpful. Your is a well-circulated example of a regular coin struck by old dies (ie; VLDS, Very Late Die State).

Your image of a die crack on the forehead isn't a match for the image on doubleddies or coppercoins (both show a crack going through the hair not on the forehead.)

The doubling needs to match before you try matching up any markers, otherwise you will drive yourself nuts.

The real variety is a class 6 doubled die and the doubling will have certain characteristics to look for on the obverse. The tail of the 9, the U (TRUST), E (WE), IBER (LIBERTY) are usually the easiest places to spot it.

As an example, look closely at the left side of the letters IBE (LIBERTY). The images of the variety, show the left side of those letters look like they have a curve to them and are rather pointed on the top and bottom.

LOL! If I was certain it was a DD I wouldn't need to reference the die markers. I thought IN GOD looked a little fatter than normal, even considering the extreme die wear and the fact the devices looked a little smushed. I've seen plenty of flattened devices from every possible scenario and they usually dont look that fat. That's what made me curious and so I checked wexlers. His site has just a couple pics to reference and they didnt really help because of the extreme late die state of this coin. I did cross check with the die markers he had listed and I did see the T die marker on copper coins and just deduced that my coin is an extremely late die state. All the markers match along with the fact my coin shows evidence of a clash. In hand you can see the remnants of the crack in the hair and I just assumed the progression of the crack lead to it traveling to his forehead. The other cracks were so fine that I assumed normal circulation wear made them almost disappear. The reverse markers match perfectly as well but are way more extreme. Also, one of the pics on Wexlers site show the Y in liberty with the beginnings of a die chip and in the pics of my coin you can see the die chip has progressed quite a bit. That was pretty much what made me confident I had the 003 DDO. These are obviously assumptions I came to but not because I looked at the die markers first.
