This relates to Daves Errors pointing out that there seems to be doubling on the 9 in the date. I noticed it to but left it alone for some reason.

Thoughts? I can't find a match on VV, haven't checked Wexler's or any other site yet but I thought you guys might know.

Just comparing it to the other DDOs and the way the doubling is occurring makes me think it's a legitimate doubled die, but I'm no expert.

Could be MD for all I know.

Honestly might be some slight doubling there, but pretty sure that would fall into the "too minor to list" category. Without something going on besides the 9 I'd have little hope it would get listed and just file it for the RPM, which is a pretty tough one for that year.

Thanks for telling me Tropicalbats! I'll keep that in mind next time I find similar coins.

And thanks so much for giving this one to me, I love it!

Happy you're enjoying the loot. Seems like your eye is getting better at seeing what it should be seeing, even though this one really looks like a no-lister. It's pretty normal that once you start seeing and finding honest doubled dies that you get excited finding them. But many are just not really something that would get listed and that's where you leave them.

I definitely am. I'll agree with you on that, it does slowly seem to becoming more sharp, now that I actually have these photos in hand, I can use my own method of looking at them, and then transfer that method to when I'm CRHing. When I'm simply looking at pictures from different sites, sometimes it is difficult to get the same look with my equipment, so now that I can do that, it's been helping greatly. I understand, I'm sure I'll come across some more like that in the future. Thanks again!

EDIT: What about the 3? I've just noticed it now but underneath the top of the first loop there seems to be some more doubling, though it does have the effect of MD however.

EDIT #2: Nevermind, that is certainly MD.

Yeah, and looks like a bit on the horizontal bar of the 4 as well. Might be something worthy there, so getting more submission worthy. But honestly other than the 9 I'm not really seeing enlarged devices and remain doubtful it's a go.

Oh I'm seeing it now, alright well, I'll take more pictures just to make sure it isn't submission worthy.

SilverCent: I with Tropical, When I pointed it out I said looks like a lil doubling. Its only value Is the RPM. Its not wise to send in lil minor doubling as tropical said. Money wise on minor doubling NOT a seller people DONT want them. I have found that out the hard way lol Minor Doubling is ok to keep if you like but you'll need some room for storage lol because there are ALOT out there. MOST are NOT worth keeping but that's up to you with your finds. Happy Hunting and be safe.

Thanks for the input Dave! I'll certainly follow it then. Just wanted to make sure that nothing else was doubled besides the date, and it isn't by the looks of it.

Thanks again!
