As if all of the propaganda slogans by the TPG's weren't bad enough I saw this junk tonight for slabbed non mint marked bullion Silver Eagles from PCGS: "Silver Eagle - Emergency Issue - Struck at Philadelphia Mint"

Did the mint start marking monster boxes as "Emergency Issue" or did PCGS directly pick the boxes up at the dock at the Philadelphia mint and document the chain of custody of the boxes or is this another "mint box strap scandal" in the making like last time.

The TPGs are attributing these bullion coin Philadelphia strikes the same way they attribute S or W strikes - by the tracking number on the monster box.

According to this NGC post,
Quote:
The Silver Eagles struck at the Philadelphia Mint have tracking numbers 400,000 through 400,479 on their sealed US Mint monster box.

You can find the US Mint document detailing the production here.
