Dear Friends, Here is a nice 1816 Large cent that I am considering. Please let me know if it's genuine and what N Variety it might fall under. I apologize for the crappy pictures as this is the best I could get from the seller at this point. Appreciate all your inputs and Thanks in advance!

If it's authentic, I believe it will be a N4. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks!

Appears cleaned in these pics, perhaps to improve some of the splotchy areas?
Rest in Peace

Authentic, I agree on N-4 (R-2+), and it has been cleaned.

Thanks for all the inputs. Got this for 70$ hope it's not a mistake. I believe it will make XF details. I will post better pictures once I have it in hand. Thanks again!

Understand that copper guys - probably more than ANY other group of collectors - are very picky about patina and overall unmolested appearance. So even though the details are, a lot of EAC people will turn their noses up at it.

With some of that splotching... this is the type of piece that might be a strip and retone candidate.

I agree, Realswatcher, I kind think that I overpaid for this coin. I will post a better picture and ask for help with possible ways to conserve this coin. Thanks for your kind inputs.
