This is an already graded coin. Unfortunately these are the best pictures I have. I know its hard form pictures but I'm looking for some input. To me it looks relatively clean surface. I cant really tell about the luster, but I dont see many if any surface scratches or bag marks. Eye appeal is not bad but I'm really interested in the originality of the surface.... What is you're assessment? *** Moved by Staff moved to a more appropriate forum. ***

From what I can see, it does look nice. (I'm on a mobile phone so I can zoom in and get a bit clearer of an image) I'd say MS-64, but without better pics I would probably only consider it as an AU-58, even if it's graded.

Thanks for the reply. It looks relatively clean. And the fact that it doesn't look newly minted makes me think it hasnt been dipped. So hard to see luster...

Please post pictures of mostly coin, not the background. Grading is hard enough with the coin in hand. I recommend getting a desktop microscope or DSLR camera. You could probably get something for a couple hundred dollars.

Thanks for the reply JG . I did mention in my original post that this is the ONLY pictures I have, so another version is impossible at the moment. Now that you know that. What do you think of the coin based on the pictures ITT?
Thanks

Same coin, but arranged a little differently. I'm no expert on George V wear, but these sure are nice-looking fields to my eye.

Can you guys tell if this has been dipped? It doesn't look to cleaned to me. I'm trying to learn how to judge surfaces and cleaning etc. Looks like nice tone on the coin. A little bit of color not really to sterile looking.

I would say the original lustre has been disturbed to the point it's gone except for the toning around the rims.......1936 is not a tough year to find a nice example of a problem free coin.

@tripoli pardon my ignorance, but can the luster be fully examined if the coin is not tilted the proper way towards a light source? I did ask for pictures with reflective light.

@tripoli would you venture to say the MS63 picture you posted was most likely dipped due to the fact that there virtually is no tone and everything on the coin looks quite even?
Thanks
