Two fatties worth searching for. Both scarce and underrated IMO. The 1984 D shows thickness throughout all outside devices including designers initials and E PLURIBUS. Very exciting die variety in hand. The 1984 P not as dramatic but no slouch either. Enjoy.

Nice coins! I like the split serif on the tail of the "R" on the 84-D.

Yes agree, that is the main pickup point on this one. When rolling the coin to and fro all kinds of goodies appear the PLURIBUS has serifs but are somewhat fuzzed out and only discernible at an awkward slant. Many 1984-89 Lincoln Memorial dies have the definitive snapping back effect on ON of ONE. From what I gather this is considered doubling but not clear on the class but fairly sure its not hub doubling. Imagine opening an entire bank roll of BU coins frantically looking for the DDO not bothering to check reverse-can only imagine how many went into circulation this way relegated to AU when found. They come in bunches and I buy up any dealer rolls of anydate Memorials I can get my paws on. I hypothesize there are more out there waiting to be listed. I got burned out on pennies after a 2 year binge slowly sipping this time more for enjoyment from the roll searching cup.

1984 DDR-002, 2-R-II-C = Class 2
1984-D DDR-001, 1-R-II-C = Class 2

How can I tell. The formula tells that
1984 DDR-002, 2-R-II-C
1984 = Date
DDR-002 = second die of the series that is attributed,
after comma
2 = second die of the series that is attributed,
'R' = Reverse die
II = class 2 doubled die
'C' = spread to the center [note the doubling is on the tops of ONE CENT showing notching there]

Great finds! I agree many nice varieties in this series are overlooked by those hunting for the big ones!

Thanks all, and coop thanks for the breakdown. Bats just got fried out on varieties and divorced them all for new love "The Classics" homebreakers that they are. And I thought doubled dies were costly? When I was out bid on a 1970 S large date DDO FS-101 in last minute I cracked up temporarily
The head and psych injury changed my collecting goals. Now am not knocking anything here folks- but frankly the Classics Forum corrupted me.
K-if you need these for your set there yours for postage. PM me if you need them.
