Looking at the CENT there is an area in the lower part of E and appears to be raised compared to rest of background. Same with the upper part of the N.
Not sure what it is? Maybe part abrasion deepened that area?

I see what you're seeing, but it isn't anything. Simply part of the wear of the coin. Little lines forming the more time it spends in circulation. You're looking far too hard for something that isn't there.

Just wear, nothing else.

Thanks. Certainly not the first time. LOL.

I took a toothpick and ran it over the area. Couldn't feel any bump so you are absolutely right that is was just a scratch.

Wow. Really? I'd better take a much better look at that then. Should letters from the clash be inverted or readable. Kind of looks like a tiny sideways "L" on its side between the N and the E in ONE.
