Looks like a Close AM with a hit on the right leg of the A.
ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!

Not even close. The FG initials will tell you what you've got.

The coin on the left is the RDV-007 and is the closed AM, the coin on the right is from an RDV-005 and is a Wide AM.

Is it rare even if damaged,? Also I know that in 1989 THE g was given a left RETURN in the vertical line. This doesn't have that it has a 1988 reverse. I'm I correct to think it's another error?

First opinion: don't hold your coins in your fingers (causes fingerprints) Second fact: All of the 1994 pennies are close AMs... wide and close wasn't even a factour in 1994.
Put it back in your pocket and spend it.

Sorry not a line but a serif on top of vertical line and the vertical line extends a little past the curve.

I understand that about 1994 are supposed to be Close AM. But so are the 1998 and 1999 P & D and some have been found with Wide AM. I'm wondering if this is the same case?

No, there is no chance that the cent you posted about is a Wide AM. No chance. It is a damaged cent worth one cent.

The ONLY years that have close and wide issues are 1992, 1992-D, 1998, 1999, and 2000. You can look at all the other dates you'd like, but the only ones that matter are these.

Actually that is a Close AM if you look closely at the bottom of the a and the m you can see where it originally at the mint it was a Close AM that Nick or that that thing on the bottom of the a is after mint air or happen after men so if you actually look real close down there you can see the outline of the a continuing down to the m which makes it a Close AM

to CCF @ GeorgiaDawg and you are correct this is a Close AM. There are 3 different thi8ngs we look at to determine this. 1. The AM (of course. 2. The FG initials - if far away from the memorial then it is a Close AM, and 3. The 'A' in States - if the 'A' is closer to the second T then it is a Close AM.
