That is one gorgeous 17-P Merc. I think your over stressing the reduction in grading , the only hits that could be an issue is the small ones on reverse on the upper middle sticks of Fasces . MS-66 FSB .

Solid 65FSB, could well make 66. Very nice!

MS66 FSB, 10% of 67 FSB. IMO.

Looks like a bit of chatter around the chin. Otherwise fantastic. I'll say MS-65+ FB.

borderline MS65. looks like FB and possibly FSB. there are quite a few nicks on the column and the obverse strike is not that bold to pull a 66 imo

Well clearly there is something we're not seeing in the pictures I'm saying undergraded though. Had this been submitted by one of the big guys, might be seeing a different grade on that slab, just my opinion.

Yes...PCGS. It's on the picture. And I agree. Undergraded, but that's why I am not a TPG. Lol. They are the experts. Oh well. A bit disappointed as I think the Clearview pictures speaks for itself. Looks 65'ish to me. At least. Oh well. You think this is undergraded? Go look at my 1925 Stone Mountain post (original Posted 12/01/2019), which I also posted the newly graded picture, plus some comparison pictures. Unreal. Where's the consistency? Grapecollects nailed it at AU55, but I am referring to the other AU55's being called comparible to mine. And the MS68's are nice, but not way far from my sample IMO. It may be an AU55, but when compared to many PCGS graded AU55's, it is not even close. ZERO Consistency. Sad part is, I have more to post, and wait until those that commented in the past hear what PCGS came up with for those. Lol. I see some serious quesions flying now. And this is my first go of it. But I said all the time.....this will be my learning curve. And I am about to be schooled. Haha. I have no problem with that.
