1958 Scottish shillings were really common in circulation in this condition (about VF to me though may grade higher in the US) right up to 1990 when the old shillings and larger, older 5p coins were demonetised. The 1959, 1961 and 1965 Scottish shillings are the scarce dates, but as norantyki says, plenty were saved in Uncirculated condition so even they are worth little over face value if circulated.
By the way, if you find a similar shilling with three lions on the shield, it's an English one! Separate English and Scottish shillings were issued from 1937-66 (and in 1970 as Proofs) but both types were legal tender throughout the UK!
