1888 O Morgan VAM 1A3 With Gouge Or Strike Through In Front Of Lips

I noticed this pretty large gouge or strike through in front of the lips and chin , it doesn't look like a nick , looks like from minting. I was searching online and found another 88O Van 1A3 with a nearly identical feature. any ideas on if this happened during minting? suipakpaikungfu Pillar of the Community United States 992 Posts	Posted 06/03/2020 9:40 pm While it's possible as a multiple strike defect. I'd guess this one is a planchet flaw or Lamination defect. If you can provide pics of other 1A3's with this issue, I'd love to see them. Report this Post to the Staff

JasonKflo Pillar of the Community United States 1694 Posts	Posted 06/03/2020 11:30 pm seller I got it from says its a strike through , I am surprised it wouldn't grade with details with a strike through like that but I wonder if it just knocked it down a grade, graded at MS-63 Coin has a insane amount of luster so everything shows.
