That is, are all 1871 Indian head proofs the "shallow n" variety? And what is the value of a 1871 PR63 and is there a difference is values or proof if the shallow n and bold n varieties exist? benv New Member United States 48 Posts	Posted 06/09/2020 8:58 pm According to Snow, there are both shallow and bold N proofs. Looks like 2 die pairings for each variety. He says almost all proofs are shallow N, and that the bold N proofs are comparatively rare. The value would really depend on eye appeal and color, proof indians can really vary in value.
