To the Forum.

PMD
Short for post mint damage. Damage sustained after the coin was struck.

Just another damaged coin. We see damaged coins here constantly. PSD (Post Strike Damage). Worth face value.

The edge of the coin is still showing reeds and the curved letters are now straight. Damaged coin by a coin murderer.

If it was done afterwards then why would the letters curve around with the damaged part? I'm just asking only way to learn!

Why the opposite side is not affected could be it was placed in a vise in the central area of the coin, after tightening, then hit with a heavy hammer, thus bending the edge and devices. Just a damaged coin is the end result.
