I think that these two coins might be from the Islamic States (Numista) but any further identification would be appreciated.
Diameter approx 23mm on each, weight 5.6g and 5.8g
Thanks
Brian.

I'm not familiar with the characters on them, to determine dates or rulers.
Maybe they are Tokens?

Link to the "Creounity time Machine" for different alphabets and characters. You will need to know the country of origin or look through the many examples on the site. (It is perplexing trying to make sense of the different characters but stick with it and you will find satisfaction as you learn and satisfy your curiosity.)

They look like early Islamic dirhams, ca. 8th-10th century; the dates and mints would be written out in words on one of the rings (which particular ring is used depends on the series, which I'm not sufficiently familiar with to guess).

As far as I can see, these two coins have identical inscriptions, so if they're real they're from the same mint and date. They look suspiciously too identical, however, which makes me wonder if they're actually both modern counterfeits.

They look very much like a coin I have in a set of replicas produced in the 1960s. My replica coin is described as a Silver Dirhem of Haroun Al-Raschid:

I was given these in my early collecting days by a friend whose father was a local doctor. I understand they were distributed by a company making medical supplies. The name on the back of the display card is Nicolas Laboratories of Slough, England. The coin replicas are not magnetic.

Thanks all, those thoughts/links etc are very helpful and have made me look again with a different perspective.
The coins just do not "feel" old or "look" aged to be the real thing. Add to that that they both have a 'cast' spot on the rim in exactly the same place so definitely replicas.
That's OK, I now know and can be honest in the replica section on ebay.
Cheers
Brian.
