Hello! I recently acquired an old roll of 1964-D BU Kennedy's. When going through them looking for varieties - 9 of them ended up being FS-502 D/D South. I'll post one of those photos, but I'm exceptionally curious about the remaining 11. They all appear to possibly be d/d horizontal but I am having trouble finding additional photos of this variety other than NGC's single variety plus photo.

The best view of the lines was with my loupe, but I did the best I could with my camera and my microscope.

Please let me know your thoughts because you guys are the best!!

Best,
Blake

On the stars, that Machine Doubling. So other devices may also be altered as well.

Hi Coop,

I'm sorry, I forgot to mention that all of the pictures are taken at angles to show the indentions/lines. The starts are not doubled - it just appears that way due to the angle. Apologies for that

I also forgot to post the D/D picture from the other 9 coins in the roll. I'm just wondering if someone stored away a roll of error coins that I obtained. The other 11 have marks around the mintmark like the one in the first post.

Well I'm seeing metal striations which indicate Machine Doubling:

These are part of push doubling. The lines on yours is a stronger push.

On the tops of the devices I can also see Machine Doubling. This is not a doubled die or RPM variety issue. Just a sloppy machine that struck the perfect coin, then bounced and damaged it.

Okay, thanks Coop. I must've just got a bad batch then. Of the remaining coins that were not D/D, 8 out of 11 had those marks around the mintmark. Was hoping I hit a homerun :(. The D/D ones are still a great surprise and to have 9 out of 20 in a roll is pretty lucky I'd say.

Thanks for your time

The first one you posted is nothing, but the one you posted in the comments is FS-502
