Ch27, I appreciate the input. I really couldn't get a good picture of what I can see on all the letters... the "u" in particular is where I am seeing what looks just like the photos but with my magnifying glass I feel like I am going cross eyed and I don't want to just be seeing what I want to see lol. I think it's about time to invest in a microscope. Once I get it and can get some More clear pictures I'll add them so you can see what I am seeing better. I have found plenty of Machine Doubling so far And this is the first coin that I felt had true doubling but I know I need better magnification to get positive identification.

to CCF. Pics are too blurry. Not seeing a DDO. Always best to remove coins from holders whenever possible before taking photos. John1

John, that must be why I was having such a hard time getting my camera to focus... the last coin I took pictures of wasn't in a holder and I felt they came out much nicer. I'll get this one out of the holder tonight and see if I can get some better pictures. Thank you!

You could try one of those clip on magnifiers for your phone. They don't cost much. John1

In the CONECA listings there are two listed for the 77D DDO. I don't think you have the DDO-001 FS-101, but maybe the DDO-002. The doubling for the 002 is kind of minor and hard to photograph, see attached photo. Since you have the half dollar in hand, maybe you can see the doubling.

I don't think it looks exactly like either of the two DDO examples but I am still having a hard time not seeing some double lettering, especially on the top left area of the T as well was the U. They both look to have another of the same letter underneath them. Is it doubling or am I seeing shadows possibly? I also wasn't able to get a good photo of the R but there is a line down the middle of the East leg that resembles the DDO 101. Is it worth holding on to until I get better magnification and can look closer?

Any thoughts on the new pictures? I have given up on the fs101 but I still can't find anything on any of the variety/DDO sites about a 77-D with this type of spread on the letters.
