You should get 100% of your money back from Paypal, no matter what the seller's return policy. Selling a counterfeit without being advertised as such is against ebay policies. Make sure you leave him a negative to warn other potential bidders. Don't worry... he can't neg you back.

Pay/pal will start a dispute if you feel "the item received is not as described in the original auction ad".If you paid by credit /debit card, they , once you report it will re-inburse you the funds you paid. Also I agree there is not a 'real" 1902-cc Morgan silver dollar. On june 1st 1893, ROBERT E. PRESTON, ACTING U.S. MINT DIRECTOR, ordered suspension of coining at the CARSON CITY MINT, WITH ONLY IT'S REFINING DEPT TO REMAIN OPEN.In 1895 , after an investigation found that $75,000.00+ was missing , the assistant melter, and refiner, silver dissolver, and a refinery worker were all found guilty of the mint gold theft. On july 1, 1899 the mint was officially changed to an assay office and all 3- presses and coin die's and associated machinery were shipped to the philly mint!!Thought I would share ...MORGANS DAD...

For the sake of the board, can you please take a pic of the counterfeit ? Just set your digital camera to macro, use some boxes to stabilze your hand and take a picture from about 6-8 inches away. Make sure there is a lamp nearby for decent lighting.

If you paid through PayPal using your credit card, just call them and reverse the charges. If you do this I would also return the coin to him with a delivery confirmation. Any coin purchases that I make from ebay over $30 I always use my Discover Card, although I have yet to reverse a charge. Good luck.

Just try and get your money back (paypal is great for it) whether or not he sent you the right coin or the wrong coin. Something is not right with the auction. ebay coin auctions can be shady if not a scam. I just try to avoid them all together unless you really know the seller

That seems like a pretty uniformed blanket statement there.
There are a great many honest coin auctions.

I think its about half good and half bad from my experience. I see more people selling coins slabbed coins by illegitimate companies than just about anything else. What scares me more is that these guys are getting mostly positive reviews, even though they are slabbing AU coins as MS66 coins. ebay does nothing about it so I just avoid buying from them.

It's just to bad that these shady E-Bay sellers have to swindle money from a new inexperienced coin collectors. They ruin it for everyone else's auctions. So buy only TPG slabbed coins with return policies and auctions with original large pictures of the coin you are buying. No stock photos. I sometimes blame the buyer also for there negligence. I hope they don't buy other things without researching the item first. There is a box to click on for asking the seller questions. DO IT. If they are flakes they most likely won't answer you back. I have found out this out on a Close AM Lincoln I was looking at. These sellers are not dumb they are just waiting for suckers.

...buy only TPG slabbed coins...

Gotta watch that too though.
If I was to pick the biggest scam on ebay, it would be
coins sold in slabs to appear legit. You have brands like
SGS putting any coin it can get ahold of in a slab labeled
"MS-70". I have seen MS-70 (perfect) SGS slabs with
obviously circulated coins in them! They prey on the folks
that follow the "buy only slabbed coins" advice.

Again, many, if not most, ebay coin auctions are legit.
And many of those are bought and sold by members here!
You just have to be smart and especially avoid glaring
examples of scams.
