This was a question I was going to ask a few weeks ago but I forgot about it.

On some of the shield cents, a very well known type of doubling is the Y in LIBERTY being stretched. I was wondering if the same goes for LMCs?

I know this 1977 LMC has some obvious circulated flattening to it, but I don't know if it's what's causing the Y to be stretched, or it's simply part of the design. I haven't run across this so I was just curious.

I am trying to get back into the coin hobby after a few days of processing, as it isn't healthy for me to be laying around.

Again thank you all for the support after what has gone down.

I'd say it's not a DDO.

Thank you so much for offering Merclover! Sadly there isn't much to be done. Just...allow me to attempt to move back into things slowly. I've missed y'all too.

Thanks you E&V, just wanted to make sure.

When questioning device sizes, make side by sides from images of the same year coins to see if it is larger or just normal sized. Devices can vary in size. Also keep in mind some dies maybe over polished, making the devices small especially on the Y. Thus the warning of using the same years. If they are larger, that can be a good thing. But smaller, move on to the next coin.
