I have been snooping around on this forum, and I just can't believe all of the information and interaction amongst the users! The gallery's, coin history, coin facts, etc! It seems everytime I come on here, I find something new.

Forgive me for "gushing", but I have been on forums before, and this one simply is outstanding! I am so proud to be a part

I also found an area where we can put our images, except it states you need to have a certain post count. I'm not sure if I am near that or not, but was wondering if this was offered to everyone? Is there a cost? or an ebay status? Just curious.

Thank you!

Glad you like it here!

For the gallery, you need 50 posts and it is completely free. You have 26 posts as I write this (look under your avatar). The next 24 posts will go by pretty fast.

Ah testimonials from the recently arrived! That's great to hear.

I've been here about a year and a half ... in the hobby since I was old enough to have money and thought I knew a lot. My knowledge has grown exponentially in the short time I've been here and the people share their knowledge without the baggage you see on other forums. It truly is a family ... welcome aboard kids!
Rest in Peace

Yeah ... two things I have to go on record saying:
One: although I started collecting long before the Lincoln Memorial cent was just an idea, most of the time the coins just lay in the back of a drawer. A couple of times I drifted back into the hobby and then out again, usually in the summer time. I joined CCF last July, and I'm really glad that I did, as I've been able to find answers to a lot of questions that I've had for years but never asked. The expertise of many here astounds me. And I've been at least semi-active since joining the forum and don't foresee drifting away any time soon.
Second: I've been on forums before that were just one series of flame wars after another. I tried to exert some adult influence on one forum in particular and finally severed relations with it after the owner refused to consider any suggestions for improvement, thus pretty much hamstringing the moderators, who came and went rapidly. This forum is so well-managed that it's almost scary. Maybe Obama should be looking here for cabinet members! Okay, maybe just a new treasury secretary ...

Welcome! There is a wealth of information here.

My two greatest discoveries, besides the aforementioned and various links posted to make a point in a thread, are:

The member coin articles http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/...?FORUM_ID=28

And ElleKitty's collection http://www.omnicoin.com/user_view.a...id=ElleKitty

Have fun!

There are problems here though. This forum pulls in new people all the time and they become addicted to the forum and therefore they collect more and more and more coins. This obviously means less and less coins out there for me you know.
Then too you'll find someone here that knows the answers to almost anything in coins. This means everyone here will get smarter and smarter and I'll never be able to lie to anyone since they'll all know more than me.
Next thing is you new members will all be going to the same coin shows and shops I do and their buisness will be so great they'll just ignor my attempts to chew down the prices. See how this all effects me.
All just kidding you know. Or am I ?

Welcome!

The coin board is awesome with plenty of members to
have fast turn around in conversation. If you are into
stamps, you can visit the 'sister' stamp board. There
are some awesome members there too, but not nearly as
many. So conversations go slowly. We need to change that!
