What are your experiences purchasing Canadian banknotes from major banks (i.e. CIBC, TD, RBC, etc.)? I am hoping to purchase $5 bills in bulk in uncirculated condition (and of course, preferably in consecutive order).

Good luck with that ! Especially during the Covid crisis .
You have to line up at the banks now as it is .
They will really welcome you .

I am probably going to wait until the COVID situation improves before embarking on this project, as to save time and reduce risks to self and others.
For now, I am trying to gather information on where I can obtain such quantities of banknotes under normal circumstances.

I've had some luck in recent months at a local BMO ATM that has been stocked with new consecutively numbered $5 bills.

While not certain, I suspect that given the pandemic most of the older ratty notes have been removed. Good Luck and hope you succeed!

What kind of quantities?
Large enough to attract the attention of CRA?
Banks will arrange anything, for a fee of course.
