Another one from this big collection I purchased. I believe this coin has been severely affected by environmental damage of some kind, but the flip it came in claims it was struck with "rusty dies". I'm leaning toward damage, but I thought it would be helpful to double check here. I would not send it to a TPG, but what grade do you think it would be given (obviously details if damaged, but maybe a range would be helpful). Thanks!

S-230, R-1 fairly early die stage. And clearly corroded, not from die rust.

Here is a recent study I did on whether a coin was improperly cleaned or was naturally made this way - many coins are classified as "improperly cleaned" particularly in the Mexican field but their manufacturing methods may? say otherwise. Unfortunately I am retired and this singular SEM/EDS analysis was $300. As scientific analysis enters further into numismatics some errors by TPGs may change IMO.
