I have a Canadian Tencent queen with a scratch across the back which runs from between the A and the N and crossed the boat, straight to the other side. Is this a known error in the die? And how do I determine if it's a die error, or a scratch?

A larger image would help but it appears to be a scratch when I attempted to enlarge the image.

there is no recorded die error as per your photo, but it could be a strike through, up close photo's of the scratch will help us tell you what you have,

Appears to be a scratch.
A few quite common varieties you can check for.
If it sticks to a magnet it's nickel, if not it's .500 silver.
Some of these '68s were struck in Philadelphia.
In the "search this forum" box above the list of topics in this section enter the word Philadelphia to learn more.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...
