I probably have too many Ptolemy's
But when I find a good deal they can be hard to resist
Long term conservation project
Half the 'stuff' came away with a little effort
(and a 'nice' bath)
The rest might take a year !

Wow, an absolute monster. Is this your largest Ptolemaic?

Even with the verdigris, it's pretty.

Thank you for posting this @FVRIVS RVFVS. What a lovely BIG coin. I agree with @Bob L, that even with the verdigris it is pretty.

To see an even more impressive one via the link, was an eye opener for me. Imagine walking around with a few of those in your pocket!

Thank you also for the link on the other page @echizento. It is a fascinating read. I had often wondered what the purpose of the circular divot in some of these coins was for, and the article explains a lot more too.
