I have a Ptolemaic bronze where the edges show a tapered rasping (on both sides) that seem to indicate some mint worker was taking some extra time to make the coin look good
I believe it to be quite genuine and it actually has a great obverse and reverse
But with the markings it does give a collector something to pause and think about
Long story short ........
It was discounted in price a bit since technically it is an imperfection
But genuine is genuine
Even if not perfect
It appears yours is pretty small
It may actually be just a bit of slag that got rasped off the edge
I believe these flans were cast in open molds
The 'sprue' likely would have been larger
