1 Jiao 1910.
If real, its quite rare and has some value.
You might want to post a close up of the chop mark.

looks like a W, interesting. Might be a trader or shop with the initial of W.

Have you weighed it? It should be 2.7g or thereabouts.
If the weight is correct then the chance of the coin being real is about 80%.
The one reservation I have about it is the location it was found, finding a Chinese empire coin from this period in Australia seems unlikely.

Weight seems right. Looks like a flower in front of the mouth.

You can read more on the purpose of chopmarks here: https://coinweek.com/featured-news/...a-1600-1935/

The Chinese fakes especially for rare coins can be really good, though if your weight is right and if you found it metal detecting makes it leans towards your favour a little more.

thanks mate I will have a read for sure , so does this coin have any value? you said it is quite rare ? I actually found it in an old settlement in a small country town in western Australia. I find a lot of old British coins but have never found a Chinese one pretty stoked on the find.

If real, I'm guessing in the low hundreds. But if you find a collector who collects interesting chop-marks maybe more ?
Many ifs here. Let's say minimum 150 Aussie Dollars to be conservative.

You guys living in large areas with history are lucky, you get to dig virgin ground brim with possibilities. I actually metal detect too, but nothing as interesting as your finds.
