I have many foreign coins, a few of which have nicks on the rim. I'm going to post one Vatican 1831-B Scudo as an example. It is a somewhat rare version and there are two currently on ebay. The coin's surfaces are both excellent (I would say XF-40), but there are about 6 small nicks on the rim. I've read a couple of articles online that indicate that the nicks downgrade the value significantly. Could someone please take a look and let me know what you think? Thanks.
Cleaning is usually ok for Italian Papal collectors, but rim nicks are not. While this is a rather scarce coin it would probably be a details coin for the nicks and the repair
