Hi folks,
I'm from Berlin, Germany. I spotted your CCF a few days ago, as I decided to restart my collection of 50 States Quarters. It was just a link from German wikipedia that showed me the way ;-)
I have purchased a nearly complete set of 111 Quarters D+P on
ebay for only about 80 Euro (~90 Dollars), the missing quarter is also on the way ... I'm waiting for delivery!
What do you think about the price? The coins are in the black and gold "Official Whitman Coin" - Fifty State - District of Columbia and Territorial Quarter Folder. Pictures of the coins inside are nice.
I don't know why but I can't resist this series... I startet it right from the beginning but was then soon "blown away" by the EURO introduction in 2002.
I have been collecting coins from "all over the world" since I was a child. Starting with stamps, I explored the "entire known world" - ending in wanting to know everything about Currency all over the World... coins and banknotes and the currency system used.
Let's say it quick and clear (that's a german slang!): I really love your currency!
There's nothing wrong with the Penny, the Nickel, the Dime and the Quarter. I love them. And the Half-Dollar is even more notable for us "Berliners",
when you remember Kennedy saying: "Ich bin ein Berliner"...
The "golden" Dollars - I don't know. I had some of the "Presidents" and "Natives" long time ago... not too convincing. Better use the banknote, the "greenback".
Another german saying is: "Koste es, was es wolle - Geld spielt keine Rolle!"
Enough german tongue, I hope you're all fine in this crazy times...
and I just wanted you to know, that there are (some) People here in Europe that just like you the way you are! ;-)
