The metal flow lines inside the crack (between the rim and the crack) suggest some displacement. I wonder if this is an unlisted Retained Cud (now called "pre-cud")? It looks fairly close to RCD-1c-1955-S-01R, except that the obverse die is different. Report this Post to the Staff

sheldius Pillar of the Community United States 1204 Posts	Posted 06/30/2020 11:09 pm It think you are right on the BIE. Is the obverse BIE area raised? I can't quite tell. How would that area look if it started to fail. I would imagine a bunch of small cracks or die chips falling off before the whole area breaks out. But I guess if the top part cleaved off clean it would only be a small bump. Report this Post to the Staff
