I don't remember those coins but that's because I was in Antarctica before they were issued
And anyway I wasn't in the Australian part.

But I was at the US South Pole Station during the Antarctic summer (Nov 68-Feb 69).
And I went by the New Zealand Station near the US McMurdo Base.
The New Zealanders still were using sled dogs.

Finally I was on the Palmer Peninsular (Port Lockroy - UK station) in March about 7 years ago (tour).

Wow, neat coins!

I have a few coins from British Antarctic Territory, and vaguely heard of a French Antarctic Territory issue. I didn't know that any other Antarctic areas issued coins, though in retrospect it makes sense.
I wonder if anyone has a complete list...
