It seems you can't get any good deals on e-Bay lately . Hmm, it looks to have started right around when Covid-19 kept the nation in a lockdown . When you think about it , makes sense ,tens of thousands not working ,coin shops and coin shows shut down ; Even collectors getting into the Bay for what ever income they can bring into their households . Ok this is fine for them . But what about collectors that aren't selling ,their just looking to buy . Most sellers seem to have inflated their BIN prices to compensate for lost revenue from their families . Even ones that give a price then say ''or make offer''. Their BIN price is crazy so when you make a fair offer they say Offer Denied . Then you raise your offer and wind up paying close to full retail for your coin . What kind of deal is that ? (!]

Lots of $600 federal unemployment checks being spent on luxuries and folks tend to overpay when they're spending "free money". The federal unemployment bonuses are scheduled to end at the end of July and I expect prices to return to a more "normal" level once they do.

Prices are sure to go higher . Dealers like myself are having a tough time finding stock to buy .
More people competing for fewer available goods is simply economics 101.
ebay lately has been very very good for sellers . Anything decent is gone quickly .

I have no complaint when the coin is a buy it now. Seller can ask whatever he wants.

But the auctions with ridiculous minimum bids waste everybody's time. I often look at auctions that are about to close. Most (well 95% +) have no bids with minutes remaining. About the only ones with bids have very low minimums, usually less than $1. I bid on many of these and only get a few. Usually the sellers do just fine with MANY bids.

You cannot expect anybody to bid when the minimum is above retail. But that is what so many sellers do.

I rarely look at fixed price offerings, and I skip auctions with no bids and only minutes to go before closing. If nobody else wants it, neither do I!

Yes I forgot about the starting bids on auctions being too high . They are a complete turn off . Those sellers just don't get it , do you want buyers to bid on your coins or do you want to scare them away . And don't think they won't remember your e-Bay sellers name for the next time . As far as I'm concern those sellers are only getting newbies to bid on their coins at those ridiculous starting prices .

I too have felt the hammer has been stronger on the stuff I've followed. Kinda happy I've laid low recently and bought a car instead.

So prices are strong because people want to buy.

If you were a seller this wouldn't be a problem.

It's a free market, people, coins sell for what people are willing to pay for them. That's not low or high, it's the market price.
