I was wondering if anybody here has a current price guide for Canadian small cents.....I traded some U.S. coins for these and I was wondering how well I did.

I don't have a grading guide for these so I will list them with the grades written on the flips:

1921-VF20
1922-VF20
1923-VG
1924-VF20
1925-EF40
1926-F12
1931-EF40
1934-EF40
1949-VF20

I'd appreciate any help I can get

With the 22, 23, 24, 25, and 26 in the lot, I think you did pretty well. Those are some of the key dates in the small cent series.

For Canadian, I go to the website http://www.coinsandcanada.com It's a pretty nice site for all Canadian, not just the small cents. He tends to list the varieties too. :) Hope it helps!

Thanks Ellekitty! I've never seen that site.

If those prices are even close to actual sale prices I'd say I did very well....I traded about $60 worth of U.S. coins for all of them.

Hmm...how did I miss this post?
Well, here's my opinion from buying a lot of these coins (and referring to Charlton's cat):
Prices are for problem-free in those grades.
1921-VF20 $3
1922-VF20 $30
1923-VG $30 (high demand)
1924-VF20 $12
1925-EF40 $55 (high demand)
1926-F12 $6
1931-EF40 $8
1934-EF40 $2 (common)
1949-VF20 either $0.25 or $30, depending on the variety. The "A to denticles" is the valuable one.

I'd say you did very well!

Hi Bryan, here's the diagnostic for the 1949 "A to denticles" (also called "high relief obverse")
Check the alignment of the last A in GRATIA to the closest denticle. The valuable version is on the right.
If in doubt, post a pic and I'll give it a crack.

That's what I figured....on mine the 1st A is pointing at the denticle but the 2nd A is pointing between them.

Thanks for the picture!
Now I will have to check the other 1949's that the other guy has to see if any are the rare variety

Great--once you know what to look for, I think it's easy.
They're worth a search, since CV is ~$50 in XF...I found a "hot spot" of 10 here in a dealer's cache.
