Hi all,

I recently bought this coin. I was wondering what you think of the grade.

Thanks in advance!

i think it might cross the line at VF25. if you look around AMERICA we could be seeing some corrosion so she may not grade straight

Agree VF-25 sharpness, very possibly a details coin because of ED.

I may be in the minority, but I see this one as on the VF-35/EF-40 bubble, straight grade.

The ribbon is distinct from the hair, and all letters in LIBERTY are strong. The hair in front of the ear is separate and has definition. The large strand of hair has high VF/EF definition. The hair in the knot shows solid definition. The hair above the ribbon has VF sharpness. On the reverse, the leaf clusters left and right of ONE show clear EF definition. The reverse porosity doesn't strike me as enough to detail this coin.

I'm at straight VF-35 net grade here.

This one last old off to me. What variety is it? Date looks wrong. It has pits and little spots of extra metal. Are you sure it's real?

I don't claim expertise on attribution of early cents, but I believe it is Newcomb-3.
