I've just returned from the show and had to share this find. Thumbing through world coin binders, I saw a tray of proof Lincolns. Seeing a 98-S, I thought "what can it hurt to check?" Here's what I found. Now I have the pair--98-S and 99-S Close AM. (shot in the 2X2, lint and all) Edited by KurtS 11/15/2008 01:08 am

I didn't realize the 98 Close AM was rarer than the 99 Close AM. I have all of the Wide AM's but I'm still looking for my first Close AM. What an awesome find!

From what I heard from John Wexler and others--the LMC proof die run is 3,000 per die pair, so there may be as few as 3,000 98-S Close AM proofs in existence. Yes, I'm pretty amazed I found one too!
