The Roman Empire - Septimus Severus, A.D. 193-211 Gold Aureus graded NGC Ancients Ch MS, 5/5 Strike and 5/5 Surface with Fine Style was struck during his rule from A.D. 193 to 211. He rose to power in the bloody Year of the Five Emperors. His rule was marked by military campaigns, including one that reinforced Rome's African territories and another that aimed to conquer modern-day Scotland but was cut short by his own fatal illness.

It makes you wonder how a coin survived in such amazing condition. Where was it? Was it buried in the ground or in a jar? Has it been passed down for centuries as a collectible? What is its story? Does it have a pedigree?
