I found this penny in pocket change the other day. I'm assuming its just plated since theres bells by the mouth of Lincoln which look engraved. Can anyone tell me anything else about this weird penny

Plated would be my guess as well. The bells look like a counter stamp. It may have been used for some kind of Christmas promotion. Some people collect counter stamped coins.

Plated with counter stamp. Two-by-two worthy.

As mentioned, some people collect counter-stamped coins, while others view it simply as PMD.

Definitely plated.
