yesterday I wanted to pay with a $100 bill I had for"ages".
pay for my 6/49 purchase at my fav corner store where I am well known.
clerk told me very politely: sorry H. we are not allowed any longer to accept $ 100 bills.
We had a fake one 2 days ago and the Credit Union and RCMP confirmed it..
anyone heard or has experienced anything similar? my location is Courtenay, BC-Vancouver Island.
sorry, have no SN or other details.

Was it a polymer note?
I don't live too far from you and have had no problem spending polymer $100
Older ones are a different story, can't spend them anywhere, even my bank doesn't want them.
They send them off somewhere to have them authenticated before the deposit is credited to my account.
It's annoying.
I still have more than 50 to deposit and only do 10 at a time so as not to attract extra paperwork.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...
