Hi all,
It's been a long time since I've posted - hope everyone's doing well during the ol' quarantine.
I apologize if I'm posting in the wrong place - I really tried to look around and find the best spot but admittedly I felt a bit overwhelmed. The site has really grown since I was first on.
I've recently "gotten into" Notgeld and I'd like to put my pieces in plastic pages in binders with little identifier notes.
But, I'm not sure where to begin when it comes to IDing 90% of what I have.I picked up a digital copy of "A guide & Checklist (2nd Edition) World Notgeld 1914-1947 And other Local Issue Emergency Money" by Coffing. It's 400 pages and, to be honest, doesn't really have much information - it seems to be just a "list" of known notgeld.
I was kind of hoping for a "Notgeld from X region will say Y on it" type of thing. Surprisingly, there is next to no information I can find online. I know there are MANY different cities and varieties, but... I thought there would be 'something'.
Any thoughts? Ideas?
I'd really appreciate it. I'm just a guy who got into coin/bill collecting years ago - I don't do it for monetary value - I just enjoy the fun of it :)

Thanks for the reply, Spruett. -Just an example. I have about 200 pieces. Some pieces easily state the "town/city", etc. But others, are a bit more confusing. I've got to believe there's SOME resource out there for stuff like this :)

Thanks everyone. Yes - I can help you here of course. The scans you supplied are Austrian and German notgeld. The Austrian pieces from Pressbaum have a face value in 'heller' (100 heller = 1 krone). You are possibly missing the 80h piece, which would then make the set of 4 complete. I don't think I have it here but it isn't hard to locate. The German pieces are from Osnabrueck and .......I'll have to think about the other piece (as it is the reverse side without the place of issue).......I'll get back when I have found it. I know it is a set of 3............

Thank you everyone who replied for your kindness- and extra thank you NotGeldMan for your insane amounts of wisdom! I'd like to not post pictures of all 100 pieces that I am struggling with as it would not be fair to you to have to all that work for me - though I may post a few I'm SUPER stumped on! - is there any type of information source? -Something that helps with identifying (pictures would be ideal but at least where you see German stuff and then see location in English)? -- Meanwhile - here is one I'm stumped on. It is Austrian. So, I imagine the currency is Heller. I see that it says "20" on the back. But on the front, when I tried translating the writing, It looks like it says "This voucher is good for 2500 Re.aus <-- So, I'm not sure what I'm seeing/reading - What are your thoughts? Thanks again!!

Thanks!

It's based on your post count. Also I think you might be better off posting the ones you have questions about in the thread I linked above. Not that I wouldn't like to see them on their own but notheldman responds pretty regularly to it.

Yes - please post them on my usual notgeld post as that works better for me! The green note you correctly state as Austrian, with a face value of 20 heller. It is from St. Georgen and is from a set of 4 pieces. (There is also a set of 4 where the 20h piece is brown in colour) - see you all on my 'notgeld collector of 46 years' post!!
