Cherry picked this off ebay for $22. Light Corrosion on bottom right obverse but it's nothing too bad. This series is a gold mine for amazing doubled dies and re-punched dates. I highly recommend new collectors keep and eye out for varieties in this series.

This doubled die is huge! The spread is massive and shows doubling on almost the entire obverse. This is paired with a Re-punched date but it's nothing too important. This variety is fairy rare, with less than 10 graded by PCGS and NGC total and URS-2. Not to mention that the PCGS plate coin is AG-03:

Thanks for taking a look!

While I dislike Shield nickels as a design and dislike nickels in general, I do love them for their dramatic doubled dies. I own a few rather nice ones myself and they're awesome!

Couldn't agree more! I remember the ones you found in the lot where you got the 10% off center Indian Head cent. That was an amazing lot. Thanks GC.

I only have one of these in my collection and its dateless, that said I might just dig it out and see if the remaining details can tell me something.

This thread has peaked my interest.

Like so many others I too rather dislike Nickels. And one that worn I'd never buy regardless of doubling. I do have several Albums of those due to only wanting lots of Albums.

I appreciate your input. For the rarity of this variety and the doubled die itself I thought it was a justifiable purchase.
