Hello everybody! My name is Jason, I'm 43, live in the DFW metroplex, and I've been collecting for almost two years. It all started for me when I was moving my parents out of my childhood home, and I had found my large coin bank that I had forgotten about. And after bringing them home and sorting over 3000 coins, it surfaced a passion. I began reading up on US coin history, the minting process, and then it got me into varieties and errors of all the denominations and mintages. I fell in love with the history and nostalgia the coins produced, specifically the ones I have as well as the ones I continue to purchase. And in 40+ years of amassing a collection, I can pass it on to my twin 10 year olds. I got them each started on a small collection as well, and they enjoy it!
With that said, I hope to keep learning through you guys and gals, and to share some finds in the near future. I look forward to being a part of a community that shares the same passion.

Welcome on board. I, like you intended to leave coins to my kids But my children are not interested so I'll downsize and leave only the very best to the kid's. Good luck finding that one rare coin.

Ft Worth Coin Club [Botanical Garden meeting location in normal times] will be having our first (virtual) meeting Thursday (6 August) from 7pm. Just a business meeting and educational presentation. PM me if you want an invite.
