Rare stuff will indeed go up and common stuff should go down.
There are about 100 million 1973 dollar notes still out there, that's many hundreds of notes for each and every collector, they don't circulate, how many out of those 100 million could really be worth more than face?
Similar though not as extreme situation for modified $1 and post-DF $2.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

I agree with the above sentiments. However, it's not just about rare it's also about what's popular. DF aren't rare but extremely popular amongst world collectors. I feel that all pre-Birds series will continue to sell well. It's mostly because of the influx of US collectors collecting CDN coins/paper. Just 5-10 years ago I could get good deals but not any more. I feel World paper is where its at now (still pretty new) but even that market is heating up. CDN, US & most markets will likely experience a bit of a chill in the upcoming recession (brought on by the economic contraction from COVID19) but after that- it should pick up steam again.
