Hey!

I'm totally new to coin collecting and finding errors, so go easy on me!

I was looking through a uncirculated roll of 2020 D Dimes and found this in Roosevelts hairline. I didn't think much of it at first but found a few more in the roll with the same line. Not sure if its an error, or what is, if I should keep them or not.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks
-GB

Could be a die crack. Does the 'line' appear to be slightly raised?

Full, high resolution photos of the coin's front and back might provide some additional context.

Looks raised - I'll try to get some better pictures - I don't have a usb microscope so doing my best with my iPhone...

Is it worth saving if its a die crack? I have a few, some vary in lightness just a bit compared to this one I took a picture of.

Thanks for the help identifying this guys! I've learned a lot already about die cracks now.

As I've been reading/ watching video's more about Die cracks, it's sounds like they are fairly common and don't hold additional value. I'm wondering if you guys collect these or not? I have about 30 of them from two rolls. What would you do? I'm curious how serious collectors think of these. Thanks again.

Typically no premium for these types of die cracks, more significant die cracks from rim to rim (bisecting), interior die break, retained die breaks or those that eventually result in a Cud have some premium. Check out cuds-on-coins.com

Thanks Cointheterm - lots of good reading there.

I'm enjoying the learning - looks like I found a possible die chip in the same roll too? Eyebrow and Hair area... both raised

If it were a scratch I would've shrugged it off, but as I see it it appears to extrude meaning it could be a die crack, which would also explain why multiple copies exist. It wouldn't surprise me if it was in an uncirculated roll either
