I found this nickel looking through an uncirculated bank roll. It looks like a type of irregular cut planchet. Does that seem to be the case for this coin?

Yep, looks like a clipped planchet. Can show us a close up of these areas on the coin?

Agreed, clipped planchet, worth throwing in a 2x2 and hanging on to.

Not a bad find! Nice smaller but respectable clip. Definitely worth putting in a 2x2. You may see some weakness on the exact opposite side of the clip - hence USSID18s request for pics of those areas. Kinda hard to explain, but it has to do with the planchet preparation before being struck.

Nice "incomplete" planchet. 2x2 worthy,check ebay sold values for an idea on current value.
