Beside an ugly coin. What would that on obverse be listed at. It runs from rim between TRUST & Date down to rim below VDB of bust. Not completely in middle of bust.

Plating issue's No Die crack. Looks a lil Lamination error but Zinc coins can't have Lam. Error's so its called a Copper Plating issue.

Can you explain to me why it isn't a die crack? I mean the bottom part has that feel to it.

@Silver its Simple. it's insure not raised. One could say it's a Crack in the copper but its just a Plating Issue.

Cool answers thank you all. That's why I asked Almost to think at first of a laminate problem but not on a 83. And yes below bust it does look like a crack. But it's not a die crack it's not above the coin it's in the copper. If that makes sense. It's in the book as Copper Plating Issue.

Looks like it was struck through some copper foil that peeled off a bit. Not a die crack. Note the area where it peeled off on the rim at 2:00. You can see that the area that is left there still has the plating there. It just peeled on on that area that transferred from another coin/planchet before the strike. Peeled off sometime after the strike.
