Hello all,
I was looking through my issue of Coin Worlds Coin Values because I found a 1924 LWC in VG-8 condition roll hunting and then I noticed prices for recent dates like 2008,it says it's worth 15 cents in AU50 and 2007 is worth 5 cents in G4 through EF 40.
My question is WHY? I find those dates all the time,i guess I should start saving these and then sell them for $5.00 a roll .
Any takers .
John1
PS
I am just kidding, I don't have any rolls of those dates

I wonder if the prices for the newer cents and such are based on the price of the US Mint mint sets since they cost more than face value.

LMC means " Lincoln Memorial cent", a series that didn't start until 1959. I think you mean LWC, often called a wheatie, the series ran form 1909 to 1958.

Those values you mention are examples of retail prices for coins that someone might expect to pay if buying these dates. They don't mean much and if I were you, I'd focus on the wheaties!

I think the theory is that if a coin dealer were to sell a circulated modern cent, he would sell it for 5 cents to cover overhead, etc.

Kind of a useless value, but it helps to fill in the the price chart.

I also have found CW's Coin Values to be a little high, sometimes as much as 40%+ higher then Graysheet price. I dunno who is right, but just an observation...

Remember Greysheet is wholesale and Coin Values is retail. The 40% difference is about right for this spread.
