It's a pleasure to meet everyone.

I suppose I should start my first post, with a few things about myself. I've been collecting coins off and on, for over 30 years. When I was little, my parents bought me the Offical Whitman Coin Folders for Lincoln Cents.

Over the years, my uncle has given me coins and paper currency from all around the world. A few years ago, I was coin roll hunting for silver and wheat back cents.

I recently got back into coin collecting earlier this week.

While I was searching for a list of the different errors on Lincoln cents, I came across this forum, so here I am.

I found a few strange Lincoln cents the other day, so I am posting pictures of them, to see if anyone might know what happened. I'm thinking that these may be diecapped or extremely broadstruck? I haven't learned all of the different terms yet.

Sorry in advance if the pictures aren't that clear, they were taken with a cellphone.

These are three different coins. Front/back, front/back, then back/front.

To the Forum.

PMD
Short for post mint damage. Damage sustained after the coin was struck.

Thanks for the reply and the welcome.

It does look like someone was trying to sand down one side of the coins, since they weigh less than they should. They slope downwards as they go out towards the edges, which made me think that something might have happened during the minting process.

The Lincoln silhouette is probably my favorite out of the three.

Please in the future, post only one coin per thread.

BTW, your photos are fine, it's just better coins that you need! Keep searching!

Definitely sanded down and that removed the high points of the devices.
