My first question is how much is too much?in regards to zoom .for example the 1995 LMCDDO Ive tryed my microscope and couldn see much so I tryed a lens from a web cam on my smart phone and got some diff results ..second question would it be possible to see a dd with some kind of an app or Filter ill give a few examples with my smart phone with the lens and the filter thank you for your time
The zoom is a bit close up. In order to find a doubled die you first need to learn what to look for. I use a jeweler's loupe,14x. Most people can use a 10x or 12x,but my eyes are as old as I am . Once you know what to look for you will find them, that goes for doubled dies,RPM's and all the rest. As to the 1995-D you posted, here is a link to learn from. http://doubleddie.com/506234.html John1
On the outside edges of the devices and reducing the size/contour of the devices is where you find Machine Doubling. So it is just the common Machine Doubling that is caused by the machine not by the dies. A doubled die is a doubled die because the die is doubled, thus the term, 'Doubled die."
Thank you john1 an coop I will look at the link thanks for the advice I do appreciate it verry much I have a jewelers loop too so ill put it to use till I fuigere out how to use the scope correctly thanks again
